Keep the club going?

9/30/07
My schedule yesterday required that I leave BO about 4 pm.  On the way out it looked like Ed was on still the S side, slogging his way  back, or maybe slamming and slogging, I could not tell in that fine westerly breeze.

Your weather synopsis below helps explain why I had such a brief sailing experience between 3 and 4 pm.  I can believe the gusts to 47 the way it ripped my 4.3 from my hands several times.

The on-shore brief discussion of the Windsurfing Club and what it can do was interesting.  I forgot to mention that sometimes an "official" organization of like-minded enthusiasts can have a positive political effect.  Windsurfers will always have to speak up for good launching areas and shore access, and for enforcement of safe boating practices at area lakes.  Lobbying by an organization can often be much more impressive to your average elected official than pleadings from what seems to be one or two individuals only.  (The only reason I joined the Branched Oak Yacht Club was to add to the numbers representing an interest in maintaining lake level to the Corps of Engineers.)

Keep sailing, keep the emails coming.

Regards

Jim
