How to Repair your board

Taking advice from www.TheBoardLady.com, and using only the finest of ingredients, I repaired the Hifly Free (with about 10 hours of labor).

I think (I hope), I made a watertight repair. It is not pretty, but it looks a heck of a lot better than my typical repair. Here are the steps I took:

1. Tore out any loose fiberglass.

2. Removed all wet Styrofoam.

3. Used Marine Epoxy on the Inside Top of board.

4. Used Marine 4 lb/cubic foot foam. See what a dixi cup expands to (x15).

5. Layer of J.B. Weld overnight with electric toothbrush vibrating out air bubbles.

6. Layer of Marine Epoxy over-night.

7. Another Layer of Marine Epoxy before work.

8. Sand with medium grit sanding block.

9. White spray paint on bottom

10. Red spray paint on top.

Enjoy the pics and feel free to share with anyone interested in making their own board repair.

May the injured Carp I struck, R.I.P.

Ed.
